Small but mighty....just like Kylie!

As a local charity, we like to think that we are small but mighty.  With this is mind, being given the opportunity to be a charity partner for the ever-growing and ever-glittering Lytham Festival made our mightiness even more so as we took to the fields of Lytham Green on a balmy July night (we like to say ‘alongside pop princess Kylie Minogue’ but if truth be told I doubt she had picked up on our presence!)  With our army of volunteers and staff, looking resplendent in their royal blue shirts nattily combined with matching fundraising buckets, off we set to spread the word and help the festival go-ers do their bit for charity.

A night of sights and sounds that many of us will be hard pushed to beat; singalongs to Kylie’s back catalogue, our very own Rocco in his gold hotpants and a whole lot of bucket shaking (oh, sorry, no, that’s not allowed anymore), shall we say 'using our buckets as percussion instruments whilst striking some alarming dance moves', helped to make £3133.36!  And, there’s more to come rolling in from supporting corporates which could see us top the £4000 mark!  All of the funds from the night go to make the lives of carers and their families that bit better through respite activities and family trips, giving them the chance to make positive memories, create new friendships and, most importantly, have a much needed break.

A huge thank you to Cuffe and Taylor, their wonderful team, Lytham TV and Radio Wave for giving us this stage (although we are sad that we didn’t get to share it with Kylie!) upon which to promote carers and our small but mighty charity.  It is opportunities like this that come along and change lives for the better.

And to the real stars of the night….our dedicated volunteers whose step counters went through the roof that night as they worked the car parks, the arena and the roads outside to make sure that people digged deep for carers!

Same time next year?!!https://twitter.com/i/status/1149941106047688704
